Executive Chef Eugene Robinson

 

Eugene Robinson Picture R1Hill City House Grille’s Executive Chef Eugene Robinson’s love for the culinary field began at an early age … he was cooking with his grandmother at the age of 10.  His grandmother was a full-blooded Italian who loved to cook and with much flavor using fresh herbs and local produce.  Eugene was hooked on a dish his grandmother prepared using sausage, meatballs and homemade linguini.  So, what was the Eugene’s first dish he prepared on his own; excluding kid’s dishes, it was Blackened Tilapia with Rosemary Tomato Sauce … quite an endeavor for such a young man!  As Eugene grew up, his interest in the culinary field grew and he attended Johnson & Wales.  

Eugene’s passion is shown through his food.  Eugene now has children of his own and all of them have a passion for creating in the kitchen.  Who knows, maybe there will be another Chef in the family someday!  Eugene has held positions including Executive Chef, Roundtable Chef and Sous Chef at the Hilton, Carrabbas, and other facilities. 

As the Executive Chef at the Hill City House Grille, Eugene delivers consistency in his food whether it be local cuisine or metropolitan specials.  He strives for dining to be an experience, not just a meal, in the dining room, the bar or in our banquet facility.  Eugene pays particular attention to seasonal influences and is able to create unique and flavorful dishes that will appeal to Lynchburg natives, as well as those not from the Lynchburg area.
